The Workshop

Sweet Joinery HQ

Our large joinery workshop is conveniently located in Nailsea on the outskirts of Bristol, providing easy access to the whole of the south-west region including south Wales. We are also happy to take on work further afield; for example, we have recently completed successful installations in Kent and Cambridgeshire. Our team of highly skilled staff make the workshop a busy, happy and dynamic environment.

Equipment includes a high specification CNC router and spindle moulder, computerized panel saw and 4-sided planer moulder in addition to all the other tools you would expect to find. This comprehensive set-up means there is not much we cannot do in the way of bespoke joinery. To complement the joinery service, we also have a fantastic spray booth for high-quality finishing of doors or furniture.

The CNC router

The CNC router is a strong, powerful routing unit, made to fulfil all machining requirements on various types of materials (solid wood, chipboard, mdf, plastics and light alloys) and to constantly guarantee top quality finishing even during the most demanding stages of machining. Benefits include a 3-axis pod and rail machine, and a numerically controlled machining centre. Machining conditions are simulated during the design stage using a three-dimensional CAD solid modelling system, to highlight any areas of the structure subject to deformation. All mechanical machining is performed on machining centres with a single positioning operation to guarantee the strict planar, perpendicular and precision tolerances.

As far as possible we select materials that are ethically sourced; specifically, we look for timber that is FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) and PFSC (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification) certified. The timber that we are using is stored in a workshop which is kept to a constant temperature due to our biomass heating system where we utilize both our sawdust and off cuts to heat the workshop.
