Meet the team

Daniel Sweet

Spending time with my Grandfather at weekends and during the holidays and seeing the inner workings of Construction sites and the wider built environment sparked my interest in Carpentry.

After a 5-year period spent as a Royal Marines Commando, where I travelled the world on multiple deployments, I joined the family Business as a developing Carpenter. I was extremely privileged to have the opportunity to work on a wide variety of projects across the sector, learn my craft and develop my skills alongside a Master Carpenter and my brother Lewis. I eventually managed and ran our inhouse joinery workshop, before founding Sweet Joinery and merging with Nick and the Woodhill Joinery team in late 2019.

We have an extremely talented, experienced, and enthusiastic team that is supported by continuous investment in training, machinery, technology and well-being.

Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my Wife Jo and daughter Molly and cycling (sometimes) racing Mountain Bikes and Cyclocross

Nick Gosling 1

Nick Gosling

Having spent my school holidays at my father’s sawmill, I knew at an early age I wanted a career in woodwork. I secured an apprenticeship at a local joinery shop and furniture maker where we manufactured and fitted very high-end one-off pieces. On completion of my training, I moved between a few Joinery workshops, along the way gaining more knowledge and experience, before eventually working for a company of which I went on to purchase and successfully run for twenty years.

Sweet Joinery and Woodhill Joinery joined forces in 2019, and with our combined years of experience, vast knowledge and dedication to our craft, together we have forged a strong company. I look forward to our future.

When not working I enjoy outdoor sports pursuits and I’m currently working on improving my golf game.
